Edgar Leon Smith, Jr., 86, a resident of Rockwall, Texas for over 40 years, passed away August 1, 2019. Edgar was born on July 9, 1933, to Edgar L. Smith, Sr. and Daisy Pearl (Linderman) Smith, in Myrtle Springs, Texas.
Edgar was a Dallas Police officer for 25 years, and he retired a lieutenant. He also served in the U.S. Army. Edgar and his wife attended the Methodist Church in Mineola, Texas.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 60 years, Elizabeth Sue (Majors) Smith; son, John Andrew Smith; grandchildren: Andrew Joe Smith and wife Ashley, Christopher James Smith, and Tiffany Nicole Smith; great-grandchild: McKenzie Phillips; and brother, Donald Smith. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, son, James Clinton Smith, and sister, Penny Baldasar.
A celebration of Edgar’s life will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 5, 2019, at Heath Cemetery in Heath, Texas, at 224 Smirl Dr, Heath, TX 75032.
