Vernell Walls Obituary

Vernell (Williamson) Walls, age 102, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2019. She was born November 30, 1916, in Granbury, Texas, to Mac Williamson and Grace (Sue) Williamson.

Vernell was just 3 months away from turning 103. She had a long, full life witnessing many world changes. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her full-time occupation was a homemaker and caregiver. Anyone that knew Vernell – usually known as Granny – knew that she was a self-sacrificing woman and how hard she worked at anything she decided to do – from cooking, sewing or working in the garden – she gave 100%. More than anything, she loved taking care of and spending time with her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Vernell is survived by her grandchildren: Paula Kerr and husband Scott, Debbie Johnson and husband David, Douglas Walls and wife Sarah, and Kim Mote and husband Robert; great-grandchildren: Jessica and fiancé Ryan, Ryan and wife Bianca, Alexandria and husband Jacob, Austin, Morgan, Tanner, Sam, and Danielle; and great-great-grandchildren: Audie and Barrett. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lee Walls; daughter: Edna Faye Mueller; son: Tommie Lee Walls; great-granddaughter: Sally Nicole Kerr; sister: Lucille Jordan; and brother: Buddy Williamson.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2019, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location, with Scott Kerr, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM.
