Billy E. Hardy of Garland, TX, passed away September 27, 2019, at the age of 94. He was born July 11, 1925, in Sherman, TX, to Bennie Floyd and Cora (McCormick) Hardy. Billy served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Married to the love of his life, Lillian Leverette, for 73 years, he is remembered fondly as a loving and devoted family man. Billy served as principal in the Garland ISD from 1959 to 1988 and was a faithful member of St. Philip’s United Methodist Church.
Billy is survived by his wife: Lillian L. Hardy of Garland, TX; children: Beverly and Mike Nalley, David and Debbie Hardy all of Rowlett, TX, Debra and Dan Drake of Paradise, TX; grandchildren: Brent, Wendy, Jordan, Josh, and Grayson; great-grandchildren: Layton, Walker, Rachael, and Lily; great great-grandchild: Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Floyd Hardy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, September 30, 2019, at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park of Rockwall. Pallbearers will include Brent Nalley, Josh Drake, Grayson Hardy, Dylan Vance, and Tom Davis. The family will gather with friends before the service beginning at 10:00 am.
