Martha Ashley Smith, 76, a 40-year resident of Rockwall, Texas, passed away September 19, 2019, in her home surrounded by family. Martha was born on September 27, 1942, to Scottie Hays Ashley, Sr, and Bertha Mae (Blevins) Ashley, in Dallas, Texas.
Martha was a realtor in Rockwall for nearly 20 years, and before that, she and Ronnie owned a grocery store in Oak Cliff. Martha and Ronnie were both members of the Gideons and members at the First Assembly of God in Rockwall. Her family came first – she was a loving wife, mother, and a great Memaw to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Edward “Ronnie” Smith, Jr.; sons: David and Brian Alsobrook; grandchildren: Bret Alsobrook, Lauren Alsobrook and Ginger Alsobrook; sisters: Jo Byrd, Katherine Carter; Judy Clark, Susan Fields, Debby Ashley, and Judy Kay Ashley; and brother: Scottie Ashley, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Alford Ashley and Thomas Ashley, Sr.; and grandson: Jeremy Alsobrook.
