Clarice Lometa Mason Obituary

Clarice Mason, age 91, of Wylie, Texas, passed away on November 3, 2019, with her daughter, 5 granddaughters, and daughter-in-law holding her hand. Clarice, better known as Meme, showed so much strength, grace, and kindness during her last days. Clarice was born June 17, 1928, in Hunt County, Texas, to Charlie and Myrtle Timberlake. She worked in her early years at Southwestern Bell, but without question, her highest calling was mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Clarice married the love of her life, Dal Walter Mason, on January 9, 1947, and they were joyfully married for almost 60 years. She was a very dedicated and loyal wife, mother, and Meme. She was best known for her incredible hospitality, sweetest disposition, precious hugs and positive outlook that encouraged and welcomed everyone who knew her. Clarice’s love for her friends, church, cooking, serving, and card games paled in comparison to her fierce passion for her family.

Clarice is survived by her devoted and loving daughter: Lanasu Huddleston; daughter-in-law: Marsha Mason; five granddaughters: Amy Holcomb and husband Wes, Amber Cole and husband Jason, Morgan Pistocco and husband Colby, Abbey Luman and husband Nathan, Michelle Daves and husband Kent; 10 great-grandchildren: Haylee (11), Kendall (9), Aden (9), Adelynn (9), Caitlyn (7), Lucas (6), Mason (5), Emma (4), Palmer (9 months) and Austen (10 days old); sister-in-law: Faye Timberlake; and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was lovingly welcomed into Heaven by the three great loves of her life, her husband: Dal Walter Mason; son: Kerry Lynn Mason; and son-in-law: Donny Wayne Huddleston. She was also preceded in death by parents: Charlie and Myrtle Timberlake; brothers: Dale and Alton Timberlake; sisters: Juanita Freeman, Willie Bea Lamm, and Rachel Waddle.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 am, November 8, 2019, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall with Joel Steed officiating. Interment will follow in the Memoryland – Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas. The family will welcome a gathering of friends at 9:00 am at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall.
