Douglas Cyr, age 71 of Rockwall, Texas passed away on November 17, 2019. He was born on January 10, 1948, in Caribou, Maine to Lucien and Louise Oliver Cyr. Douglas served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He spent nearly 30 years with GTE before his retirement. Douglas loved to go fishing. He was a loving son, father, father-in-law, and brother, and he will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his daughters, Melissa Cyr Hatcher and husband, Jason Hatcher and Christina Cyr Buckner; granddaughters, Toni Rae Buckner and Candice Phillips; brothers, Jim Cyr and wife Pauline, Dennis Cyr, Raymond Cyr and wife Donna, John Cyr, Peter Cyr, Steven Cyr and Tim Cyr and wife Joyce; sisters, Susan Cyr Chase and Carol Cyr Pye and husband Harry; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving are longtime family friends, Donna Villeneuve and her children, Chris and Nicole.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, TX.
Memorial services will be held in the spring of 2020 in Caribou, Maine, followed by an interment at the Central Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine
