David Gordon Gillette Obituary

David Gordon Gillette, age 75, an almost 40-year resident of Rockwall, Texas, went home to our Father on November 22, 2019. David was born on February 23, 1944, to Gordon R. Gillette and Mary Elaine (Bellaw) Gillette, in Port Huron, Michigan. He graduated from Port Huron High School in 1966 and while working at ADESA Dallas earned his degree from Amber University in 1993.

On April 29, 1967, David married the love of his life, Bobbie Anne (Stinson) Gillette. He was a member of Lakepointe Church of Rockwall for over 30 years where he was involved in a wonderful life group and treasured greeting the existing and new members to worship every Sunday morning. David enjoyed working in the finance industry as a Comptroller, which allowed him to touch and mentor many lives until he retired in early 2018. Throughout life, David was always the one to pull a harmless prank for a laugh and never lost his sense of humor even during trying times. He loved fly fishing, Colorado, being near the water, spending time with his family & grandkids and watching their sporting events.

David is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Anne Gillette; daughters, Michelle Lynn (Gillette) Beauchamp and husband Paul Joshua, and Jennifer Elaine (Gillette) Tipton and husband Ryan Robert; grandchildren, Joshua Christopher Beauchamp (17), Aubrey Rae Tipton (13), and Caleb Hunter Beauchamp (13); and brother, Steven R. Gillette and wife Karen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon R. and Mary Elaine Gillette; and his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Anne Stinson.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location, with Brenda Cox, Director of Daysprings Discipleship Institute, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to: Dayspring Discipleship Institute, Rockwall Texas; LakePointe Church Mission Giving; Rockwall, Texas; or Rockwall Pets Animal Rescue, Rockwall Texas
