Rockwall ISD has announced plans to celebrate the Class of 2020.
On Tuesday, May 4, 2020, Texas Education Agency announced graduation ceremony guidance for Texas school systems. As part of Governor Greg Abbott’s Strike Force to Open Texas, TEA approved and released outdoor in-person graduation ceremony guidelines.
Rockwall ISD announced they are are finalizing plans for RHS and RHHS outdoor high school graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 at the new Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers! The plans will be following the guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, including the limitation of guests per graduate.
Rockwall High School graduation will be held Tuesday, June 9 at 7:30pm at Globe Life Field. Rockwall-Heath High School’s graduation will be held Wednesday June 10 at 7:30pm.
Also, participation by a student in the graduation ceremony is voluntary and there is an alternative, individual type graduation plan to recognize any requesting senior. More information is coming soon.
Texas Education Agency permission is subject to change as underlying public health conditions may change.
