Michael “Mike” Glenn Roark

Michael Glenn Roark (Mike), passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022 after a brief illness. He leaves behind his loving wife Lisa, daughters Meghan and Madyson, grandchildren Davin and Lilian, brothers Jeff and Doug, his dog Eli, plus many nephews, a niece, cousins, church family, and friends. Preceding Mike home were his parents, William Glenn and Clara Faye Roark.

Mike was active in church, serving as an elder at Firewheel Bible Fellowship, cooking for church functions alongside Lisa, teaching Adult Fellowship Classes, and greeting during guest services. He loved the Lord, and made Him the cornerstone of his everyday life.

An avid hiker, Mike completed the Lone Star Hiking Trail in 2021, having through hiked the 100+ miles of terrain in the Sam Houston National Forest. Mike’s next adventure was hiking the mountains of the Ouachita Trail from Oklahoma to Arkansas. He also enjoyed running, having raced in several 5-and 10Ks with Lisa, Meghan, and Madyson.

Mike served his country in the United States Navy from 1975-1983 as a corpsman, work which he felt honored to do. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma, and his Master’s Degree from Oklahoma City University. A proud Sooner, Mike enjoyed watching his football team win victories over opponents each fall.

Mike will be missed by all who knew him. He was hilarious, yet also a calming presence. He enjoyed mentoring colleagues in the credit union industry, and served on the boards of the Cornerstone Credit Union League and the Lending Council. Mike was respected and loved by friends, family, and colleagues alike.
