Two charged in home burglary in Murphy

On Wednesday morning, around 11:10am, the Murphy Police Department responded to a call at the residence in the 200 block of Starlite Drive. The caller reported that a suspicious vehicle had been driving around the neighborhood and had pulled behind their neighbor’s home. Officers responded to find two individuals exiting the home through the rear garage door wearing masks and carrying property.

The individuals, identified as 36-year-old Jorge Morales of Sachse and 27-year-old Albert Silva of Royse City, were detained by officers.

Inside, the homeowner, an elderly female, was found with her hands tied behind her back. According to the homeowner, the two broke into her home and tied her up. She was unharmed.

The individuals detained were charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Unlawful Restraint. They were transferred to the Wylie Jail and booked without incident.
