Lailia Denise Freeman Ferrell, 57, of Royse City, Texas, passed on from this life on September 22, 2022. Lailia was born to Ralph Freeman and Patricia (Hammack) Pluebell, in Garland, Texas, on October 29, 1964. She was born and raised in Rockwall, Texas, and was 4th generation. Lailia has been a pillar of the Rockwall community her whole life. She took pride in her hometown and being a Rockwall Yellowjacket, and was Mrs. Rockwall 2007. Lailia was an entrepreneur, she owned and operated her Pet Bed + Breakfast for over 25 years. She was a member of the Soroptimist of Rockwall, founder of J.U.G.S (Just Us Girls), and a member of Generations Church at Sabine Creek. Lailia never met a stranger, she showed sincere unconditional love and kindness to all, and everyone loved her in return. She treated everyone like family, but most of all her greatest treasures were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lailia let her light shine for all to see, and shared Jesus with others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Ricky Edward Ferrell; father: Ralph Freeman; and grandparents: R. Gilbert and Georgia Freeman, Rev. Marshall M. and Rev. Martha M. Hammack. Lailia is survived by her mother: Patricia Pluebell and husband David; daughters: Angi Ferrell Powers and husband Jason, Christi Ferrell and husband Emmanuel; grandchildren: Makaila Powers and husband Bret Palmer, Kaden Powers, Madelynn Ferrell, Brailynn Powers, Matteo Ferrell-Gonzalez, Meikko Ferrell-Gonzalez, and Ethan Powers; great-grandchildren: Khalessi Powers and Everly Powers; and siblings: Alex Pluebell and partner Danae Plotner, Stacy Pluebell; along with a host of loved ones and friends who will all miss her dearly.
A funeral service is to be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM, in Reflections Chapel at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location, with Pastor Andy Jacobs and Pastor John Lea officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location. Burial will follow services on Sunday, and Lailia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ricky E. Ferrell.
