The Texas Education Agency (TEA) rates Texas public and charter school districts on an A-F scale based on a variety of indicators that include student achievement, school progress and success in closing achievement gaps. Royse City ISD has earned an “A” rating for the 2021-2022 school year along with 14 campus distinctions for academic achievement.
“I am immensely proud of our educators and students for this state-recognized achievement. An “A” rating is a signal to our growing community that our students enjoy quality educators, adequate resources and exceptional learning opportunities,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “More importantly though, this external validation affirms what we already knew about the successful learning experiences that we strive to provide for our students. Our district believes in Community Based Accountability and focusing our efforts on the priorities of our community. We look forward to continuing to work hard to help students succeed hand-in-hand with our community.”
The TEA did not issue ratings for the 2020-2021 and the 2019-2020, instead all districts and campuses received a “Not Rated” designation. For the academic year of 2018-2019, the district received a “B” rating from TEA. In addition to this state-recognized designation, Royse City ISD will publish a locally developed Community Scorecard in the coming weeks.
