Helen Francis “Fran” Olson, age 82 of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 28, 2022. She was born February 19, 1940, in Benavidez, TX, to William Pitts Norvell and Helen Louise (Frank) Norvell. She was married to the love her your life, Oscar Halton “Ottie” Olson, Jr. on April 1, 1961. After graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in Education & Library Science, Fran taught public school for a couple of years until her son was born. She was a Christian wife and mother first and foremost, but returned to work part-time with the Austin Independent School District in their Testing Center while her son was in High School.
She is survived by her son: Karl Olson of Rockwall, TX; and brother: Dr. Wm. Frank Norvell, DMV and wife Joyce of Mount Orab, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Both Fan & Ottie, being active in their church, have who they affectionately called their ‘God Kids’ & ‘God Grands’ that they help raised and then in turn they were helped by them in their ‘Golden Years.’ She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her beloved husband: Oscar Halton “Ottie” Olson, Jr, on June 4, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location with Pastor Jason Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
