John D. Brewer, age 78 of Royse City, TX, passed away October 1, 2022. He was born October 12, 1943, in Oden, AR, to Bert and Ethel (Hughes) Brewer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and after his military service pursued a career in banking where he dedicated 43 years. John was married in August of 1968 to Harriet Lindsey and they shared 47 wonderful years before her death. He loved his family dearly and adored Harriet. John knew and loved the Lord and it reflected in his life. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved the Cowboys, Willie Nelson, and Coors Lite. He lived a full life and shared his joy with his family and friends.
John is survived by his daughters: Karen Mollenhour and husband Bobby, Melissa Oliver and husband Barry; sister: Joyce Martin; nephews: Mark Martin and wife Ashley, John David Miner and wife Tracy, and Dustin Brewer; grandchildren: Blake and Amanda Oliver, Garrett and Ashley Oliver, and their children; and his beloved dog Missy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Harriet Brewer, brother Doyle Gene Brewer, and sister Faye Miner.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett. The family will gather with friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
