Dennis Jeffery Jones, of Rockwall, TX, better known to his friends as “Jeff”, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the age of 47. He was born on February 14, 1975, in Natchitoches, LA, to Angelyn (Oliver) and Dennis Ray Jones. Jeff is survived by his parents, his brother; James Jones and his wife Stephanie, his three nieces; Emma Jones, Parker Jones, and Remi Jones, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
At the age of 15, Jeff and his family moved to Richardson, TX, where he graduated from Lloyd V. Berkner High School, class of 1993. Jeff was an avid sports fan of all kinds, but he loved football above all. He even spent a few years playing semi-pro football from 2003-2007. Jeff was a huge lover of music of all genres, but he especially loved Elvis and the old country classics. Jeff had a great sense of humor and always left you laughing. Jeff loved his family fiercely and deeply cherished the time he spent with his nieces. He spoke of them often and to everyone he met, as he loved being their “Unkie-Boo.” Jeff never met a stranger; he was a devoted friend to everyone and was always willing to lend a listening ear to anyone in need. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held 2:00pm Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location, officiated by family friend and pastor, Dr. Carroll Marr. All are welcome, his family would like to encourage anyone willing to share any thoughts or stories you may have; the funnier the better- as that’s the way Jeff would have liked.
