Joni Maxvill Obituary

Loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, Joni Maxvill passed away in Rowlett, Texas on Sept 8, 2019. Joni’s mission in life was to serve; always putting the needs of others before her own. Mission accomplished.

Joni’s passion in life was to care for others in need and those she felt were less fortunate. She organized and fed countless of the Dallas homeless; took God’s word to those who were unable to otherwise receive the Word. This ministry grew to include the creation of a home bible study that allowed many participants to hear God’s word and, in many cases, to be saved.

She became the primary care giver for her sister, Margie, after an accident that left her in an unresponsive state for many years. Subsequently, after a tragic accident involving her beloved daughter, Jenny, she became a primary care giver as Jenny remained comatose for 11 years.

In her later life, her passion became care giving and companionship to residents of nursing homes and memory care facilities. This care giving continued her entire life as she cared for and provided companionship to a 102-year-old family friend, Ruth Sherman, until Joni was diagnosed with cancer which led to her death just a few months later. Ruth was laid to rest just one day preceding Joni’s death.
